“In a 2-1 vote, the Farm Laborers Wage Board has ignored the voices of our farmers and many farmworkers who sounded the alarm on lowering the overtime threshold. I urge Department of Labor Commissioner Roberta Reardon to reject the board’s recommendation.
When we say we must support our small businesses, let’s remember that includes our agriculture businesses that are vital to our local economies. While the board has recommended this change be phased-in over several years, a bad decision that takes effect later is still a bad decision now. I will continue to stand with and fight for our family farms.”
