SENATOR SEAN RYAN HONORS KENMORE BUSINESS FOR SMALL BUSINESS WEEK
KENMORE, N.Y. – Today, May 6, 2022, New York State Senator Sean Ryan celebrated National Small Business Week by presenting a New York State Senate Empire Award to the owners of The Laundromutt, a dog grooming salon on Delaware Avenue. The Empire Award recognizes businesses and institutions in New York State that have made significant contributions to their local community.
The Laundromutt, named Best Pet Groomer by The Buffalo News in 2021, is a full-service grooming salon located in the heart of Kenmore that also provides self-service tubs for owners to wash their dogs themselves. The salon gained national notoriety after winning ABC’s dog-grooming competition series, Pooch Perfect. They have become known for their unique styles and the work of co-owner and lead groomer Macie Pisa. Senator Ryan presented the award to co-owner Corina Stammworthy, who accepted it on behalf of Pisa and the Laundromutt staff.
May 1-7, 2022 has been designated as National Small Business Week, an opportunity “to recognize the contributions of small businesses to the American economy, continue supporting them, and honor the occasion with programs and activities that highlight these important businesses.”
Senator Sean Ryan said, “The Laundromutt has become a fixture of the Kenmore community, and it was a pleasure to stop by and see the great work they are doing in person. They have really succeeded in creating a friendly, welcoming environment for their customers and their four-legged family members.”
