Senator Ryan Recognizes Mayor Moses for a Lifetime of Service to the People of the Village of Hamburg
HAMBURG, N.Y. – On Friday, April 1, 2022, New York State Senator Sean Ryan joined members of the Hamburg community at O'Brien's West End Inn for a retirement and birthday party in honor of former Village of Hamburg Mayor Tom Moses. At the event, Senator Ryan presented Mayor Moses with a New York State Senate Commendation Award and a proclamation for his lifetime of service to the people of the Village of Hamburg. The New York State Senate Commendation Award recognizes “exceptional individuals who have made a dedicated and lasting contribution to their community.”
Mayor Moses recently retired after serving as Mayor of the Village of Hamburg since 2006. He has served the community in various roles since 1967, including 32 years as recreation supervisor. Under his leadership, many building and renovation projects were completed, including the development of Glen Meadows Park, the updating of the village swim center, and major improvements to the community center park and the village playgrounds. Mayor Moses has been married to his wife, Mary Lou, for more than forty years, and has two sons, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Senator Sean Ryan said, “Mayor Moses has spent his lifetime in public service, working hard every day for the people of the Village of Hamburg. The Hamburg community is stronger today because of his decades of leadership. I have enjoyed working with Mayor Moses on many projects during my time serving in the State Assembly, and now the State Senate – including the redevelopment of the Hamburg Community Playground. I am proud to honor Mayor Moses for his many years of service, and I wish him well as he enjoys a well-deserved retirement.”
