NYS Senate Proclaims February 2023 Tech CTE Month

NYS Senator Dean Murray (R,C, Patchogue), recently sponsored a resolution that was unanimously adopted by the full Senate, that proclaimed February, 2023 as "Teach CTE Month" in the state of New York. The purpose of the resolution is to recognize and bring attention to the importance of those who teach career and technical education as a way of preparing students for the real world workforce. Senator Murray joined faculty, staff and students of the Eastern Suffolk BOCES, Gary Bixhorn Technical Center, to present them with the proclamation.

![IT’S TIME TO MAKE “NICK’S LAW” A PRIORITY NYS Senator Dean Murray held press conference with fellow members of the NYS Senate and Assembly regarding the legislature to take up the "Nick's Law" legislation before the end of the year and pass it into law. "Nicks Law" legislation was introduced in 2023 by Senator Murray and Assemblyman Smith because of the number of hit-and-runs incidences resulting in a death.
