This past week in Albany, NYS Senator Dean Murray (R,C-Patchogue) and NYS Assemblywoman Jodi Giglio (R,C-Riverhead) joined with their Republican colleagues from the Senate and Assembly at a press conference calling for the crackdown on improper and deceptive packaging practices for edible products with THC infusions. The lawmakers say there has been a dramatic increase in cases of children mistaking these products for regular candies and snack foods with dangerous and sometimes deadly results. Senator Murray and Assemblywoman Giglio have introduced legislation that will ensure that THC infused edibles on the market are properly marked and packaged and that will increase penalties for those that deceitfully distribute these products.
