Tedisco, Walsh NYS Legislature Honor NYS Girls Wrestling Champion Isabella Gretzinger from Shenendehowa

Albany - - Senator Jim Tedisco (R,C-44th Senate District) and Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh (R,C-Ballston) today honored the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) 2023 Girls Wrestling State Champion Isabella Gretzinger of Shenendehowa High School in Clifton Park and presented her with a copy of a resolution they sponsored that unanimously passed the New York State Senate and Assembly.
Gretzinger, a junior at Shenendehowa, captured the state girls wrestling title with a 13-1 victory over Liverpool’s Gabby Gonzalez in Syracuse on January 27th. Isabella Gretzinger is the first New York State Girls Wrestling Champion from Shenendehowa, and the first-ever titleholder in New York State for the girls’ 152-pound weight class.
Gretzinger’s state championship capped off a spectacular season with an overall record of 18-2 and she was named the Times Union’s Girls’ Athlete of the Week for January 23-29, 2023.
