Senator John W. Mannion and Assemblymember Pamela Hunter honor Jamesville-DeWitt Boys Volleyball Team for winning 2022 NYSPHSAA State Division II Championship

DEWITT, NY - Senator John W. Mannion and Assemblymember Pamela Hunter today recognized the Jamesville-DeWitt Boys Volleyball Team for winning the 2022 NYSPHSAA State Division II Championship (NYS Public High School Athletic Association).
The Red Rams, who are the first-ever Section III school to win a Boys NYSPHSAA State Volleyball Championship, swept the Spencerport Eagles in three sets in the title match.
Senator Mannion said, "As the first ever Section III school to win a Boys State Championship, the Jamesville-DeWitt Boys Volleyball Team have raised the bar for local high school athletics. Their win is a reflection of not only their athletic abilities, but also their tenacity, determination, and grit. They are a true inspiration for all of Central New York."
Assemblymember Hunter said, "Athletic competition helps to enhance both the moral and physical development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of healthy living, and developing a sense of fair play and competition. We are justly proud to honor the Jamesville-DeWitt Boys Volleyball Team for their outstanding achievements."
The Jamesville-DeWitt Boys Volleyball Team recorded sixteen shutouts including an eight-game win streak to kick off their campaign.
The team is made up of team captains Michael Ryan and Aaron Ko, and fellow teammates Aidan Bates, Timothy Cooper, William Cooper, Avery Kielbasinski, Evan Kielbasinski, Andrew Laubenstein, Phoenix McBride, Luke McQuaid, Joseph Morgan, Charles (“Cam”) Moynihan III, Matthew Patalita, Grayson Pitts, Gavin Reid, and Jimmy Wickham. They are led by Head Coach Jake Cline with assistant coaches John Lenish and Young Sul.
