On Thursday, May 11, State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. and his fellow elected officials — Assemblywoman Jenifer Rajkumar, Assemblyman Steven Raga, Councilwoman Joann Ariola, Councilwoman Lynn Schulman, and Councilman Robert Holden — celebrated the School Crossing Guards from the 102nd, 104th, 106th and 112th Police Precincts.
The School Crossing Guards were invited to the Woodhaven Manor on Jamaica Avenue in Woodhaven for a lunch and each guard received a citation from each of the elected officials, recognizing them for the work they do every day in protecting their communities.
“What a great way to honor all of our local School Crossing Guards, who oftentimes may go unrecognized in their communities,” Addabbo said. “It was a privilege to partner with my colleagues in government to celebrate these amazing individuals who have been School Crossing Guards for years — some of them for over 30 years! I want thank Assemblywoman Jenifer Rajkumar, Assemblyman Steven Raga, Councilwoman Joann Ariola, Councilwoman Lynn Schulman, Councilman Robert Holden, and their representatives for their participation and providing each School Crossing Guard with citations, as well as the Woodhaven Manor and its amazing staff for hosting this fantastic event.”
