Addabbo celebrates announcement of Sikh Awareness Month with Sikh Cultural Society from Richmond Hill
Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr.
April 25, 2023
On Monday, April 24, Governor Kathy Houchl signed a resolution that names April 2023 as Sikh Awareness Month in the State of New York. Sikhs have been living in the United States for more than 100 years, and have made substantial contributions to the social, cultural, and economic vibrancy of the country and to New York specifically. I was proud to share this moment with members of the Sikh Cultural Society from Richmond Hill who visited the Senate Chambers in Albany on Monday, where Giani Dharamveer Singh gave the opening Senate Session invocation accompanied by Harpreet Singh Toor.
