This spring State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. is sponsoring a free paper shredding and clothing donation at Atlas Park in Glendale.
On Saturday, April 15, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., The Shops at Atlas Park, located at 8000 Cooper Avenue in Glendale, will host a paper shredding truck from USA Shred located in the Forever 21 parking lot to safely and securely dispose of residents’ personal and business documents, while representatives from the United War Veterans Council will be there to collect clothing donations. Participants are urged to use the 82nd Street entrance to access the correct parking lot.
There will be a limit of five boxes or garbage bags for paper shredding, while plastics and x-rays are not permitted to be shredded. Used eyeglasses and American Flags will also be collected.
“When you have sensitive documents, whether they are personal or business related, it is important that you get rid of them safely so your private information does not get into the wrong hands. Instead of just tossing the documents with your regular garbage, consider coming to this event where you can shred them and ensure that your information stays safe,” Addabbo said. “Additionally, you can get a jumpstart on your spring cleaning and donate unwanted clothing. I would like to thank the management team at Atlas Park for hosting this event, as well as USA Shred and the Unite War Veterans Council for their participation in this great event.”
“We are happy to partner with Senator Addabbo and offer this free service to local residents,” said Peter DeLucia, General Manager of the Shops at Atlas Park. “This is our third year doing this, and we will keep doing it as long as the community wants.”
