Addabbo Spreads Holiday Cheer Through Multiple Toy Drives
December 29, 2023
As the holiday season brings joy and warmth to communities across Queens, Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. has taken the opportunity to spread goodwill and cheer for those less fortunate, particularly children in need. Understanding the importance of coming together as a community to support those who may not have the means to enjoy the holidays, Senator Addabbo has actively participated in several toy drives aimed at making a difference in the lives of local children.
Reflecting on the significance of giving during the holiday season, Senator Addabbo said: "The holiday season is a time for coming together as a community and showing generosity to those in need, especially the children who may not have the opportunity to experience the joy of receiving gifts. Partnering with local organizations has allowed me to spread the spirit of giving and ensure that children in our community can experience the magic of the holidays."
Senator Addabbo partnered with the Queens Chronicle, Queens Community Board 9, the Richmond Hill Block Association, and the River Fund to collect toys for the community and P.S. 60 and Resorts World, whose toys were delivered by Santa to Jamaica Hospital.
Addabbo emphasized the importance of collective generosity, stating, "It is better to give than to receive, and by contributing to these toy drives, we have the power to make a positive impact on the lives of many children. The act of giving not only brings joy to those receiving the gifts, but also unites us as a community, making the holiday season a truly special and meaningful time for everyone involved. I truly appreciate all individuals and entities who donated toys to my office. Thank you."
Through these collaborative efforts, Senator Addabbo and his partners have worked tirelessly to collect and distribute toys to children in need, embodying the spirit of compassion and solidarity that defines the holiday season.
