Senator Parker Hosts Black College Expo

Brooklyn, NY – Creating opportunities for higher education has been a feature of State Senator Kevin Parker's leadership throughout his tenure in the Senate. In keeping with this edict, the Brooklyn lawmaker joined forces with BlackCollegeExpo to host a Black College Expo at Medgar Evers College. The event allowed participants to explore higher education options while celebrating the achievements and contributions of the black community in a resource-filled, educational environment.
"I am extremely proud to have organized the Black College Expo, which empowered students and showcased the endless possibilities available in higher education," said Senator Parker. "Through this event, we have opened doors to success and nurtured the dreams of countless young individuals. It is truly an honor to support their educational journey."
The Black College Expo attracted many students, parents, and educators who were eager to engage with various colleges and universities and explore scholarship options and educational workshops. Dr. Teresa Price, Founder of the National College Resources Foundation - Black College Expo, expressed her enthusiasm for the event and its impact on the community.
"This is a transformative event that provides space for students to connect directly with colleges and explore the vast opportunities available to them," said Dr. Price. "We are grateful to Senator Parker for his unwavering commitment to creating a bright future for our youth and promoting higher education as a pathway to success."
During the event, Senator Parker had the privilege of presenting two $1,000 checks donations to deserving students, further demonstrating his dedication to supporting educational advancement and providing financial resources for students pursuing higher education.
