Brooklyn, NY – State Senator Kevin Parker proudly announces his successful partnership with AARP for their highly anticipated end of summer Shred Day event. This collaboration aimed to provide an invaluable service to the community by offering free document shredding, emphasizing the importance of protecting personal information and preventing identity theft. The Shred Day event witnessed an overwhelming response from residents who eagerly participated in securely disposing of their sensitive documents. Held at Georgetowne Shopping Center in Brooklyn, the event drew in a large number of community members who headed AARP clarion call to “Fight Fraud! Shred It!”
Senator Parker recognizes the significance of Shred Day in fostering a community that is vigilant against identity theft. Through this initiative, the community was educated on the vital importance of shredding confidential documents to maintain personal privacy and prevent fraudulent activities. "I am incredibly proud of the partnership between myself and AARP for organizing this successful Shred Day event," said Senator Parker. "Our community's security and well-being are of utmost importance, and today's event played a significant role in raising awareness about the importance of secure document disposal."
Shred Day offered an opportunity for residents to responsibly get rid of old bank statements, credit card bills, medical records, and other sensitive documents that could potentially fall into the wrong hands. By providing this service free of charge, Senator Parker and AARP demonstrated their unwavering commitment to protecting the community from identity theft while at the same time promoting a safe and secure environment.
