(ENDICOTT, NY) This week, Senator Webb announced that the Village of Endicott has been awarded $286,725 in state funding through the Water Infrastructure Improvement and Intermunicipal Grant Program to support the completion of wastewater system improvements, including phase two of the Village’s Sanitary Sewer II Removal Project.
Senator Lea Webb said, “I am pleased that the Village of Endicott will be able to complete this important water infrastructure project thanks to this state funding and the resources made available by the Water Infrastructure Improvement and Intermunicipal Grant Program. It is critical that we ensure that our municipalities have access to resources to ensure that they can make needed water-system upgrades and water-quality improvements.”
Said Linda Jackson, Village of Endicott Mayor, “I want to thank Senator Webb for assisting us in securing this grant. She has proved to be a great ally to us in the Village of Endicott. This wastewater plant serves more than just the Village. It also serves the parts of Endicott in the Town of Union and Endwell. We are very fortunate to have someone like Senator Webb to look out for our interests at the state level! I look forward to working with her in the future!
This funding is part of the nearly $450 million awarded through the State's Water Infrastructure Improvement (WIIA) and Intermunicipal Grant (IMG) programs. Funding for this round was made possible with $249 million from Governor Hochul for water quality infrastructure across New York, and $200 million from the Environmental Bond Act. (Gov. Hochul Announcement) The WIIA and IMG programs were named as tools in the voter-approved Bond Act to help leverage funding for water quality and resilient infrastructure improvements.
