I am proud to have presented the first resolution ever given to a Dominican Consul in the New York State Senate, which bears the number J382 in commemoration of Dominican Independence. Additionally, it was an honor to welcome the Honorable Consul General Eligio Jaquez with all the honors of state in the Senate chamber. I am also delighted to have presented a Senate Proclamation to Andreina Martinez, the second runner-up of Miss Universe 2022 and Miss Universe Dominican Republic, recognizing her academic and professional accomplishments
The event also provided an opportunity to acknowledge the important work of organizations such as Educa and Soy Niña Soy Importante, which promote the well-being and education of children in the Dominican Republic.
As the only Dominican in the New York State Senate, I take great pride in representing and advocating for the Dominican community in the state. The relationship between the State of New York and the Dominican Republic is built on a long history of collaboration and mutual respect, and this event served to strengthen that bond.
I look forward to continuing to work with the Dominican community in the State of New York and beyond to promote the well-being and prosperity of all our people.
