Senate Deputy Leader Gianaris Joins SAG-AFTRA, WGA-East On Picket Line

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Senate Deputy Leader Michael Gianaris joined actors and writers on a Manhattan picket line today, expressing support for the two unions as they fight for a better contract from major film and television studios. Senator Gianaris was joined by leaders from numerous unions, as well as Queens native actor John Leguizamo.

“Today was an incredible show of solidarity and strength from the striking unions and their allies,” said Senate Deputy Leader Michael Gianaris. “We will not stop fighting until the workers who power the film and television industry get the contract they deserve.”
