June 12, 2023
NEW YORK, N.Y. – Senate Deputy Leader Michael Gianaris issued the following statement on the newly-issued order by Chief Administrative Judge Joseph Zayas:
"Our courts must operate with the transparency, accountability, and integrity becoming of a world-class judiciary. This newly-announced order from Chief Administrative Judge Joseph Zayas makes serious progress by ending the practice of Office of Court Administration security details for former judges, relieving the burden on taxpayers while creating a thoughtful system to address serious security issues as they arise. I commend Chief Administrative Judge Joseph Zayas and Chief Judge Rowan Wilson for their leadership in continuing to reform the court system."
