Hinchey Bill to Increase Number of New York State Cuisine Trails Signed into Law

KINGSTON, NY – Senator Michelle Hinchey today announced that her bill (S1054) increasing the number of cuisine trails in New York State from 15 to 25 has been signed into law, unlocking more opportunities to support local businesses and economies. New York’s Cuisine Trails are curated routes that connect and promote restaurants, breweries, distilleries, wineries, and agricultural retailers, providing unique and immersive experiences for visitors to explore the diverse culinary and agricultural offerings in specific regions.

I’m proud to sponsor legislation to create more trails in New York State — it’s a win-win that helps people discover and support local food and craft beverage businesses while also attracting visitors, giving a boost to our Main Streets. Whether you’re visiting the Dutchess Wine Trail or the Catskills Craft Beverage Trail, there's a plethora of local flavors to explore and ample room for innovation in developing new local trails! There are 39 cuisine and beverage trails in New York State. The designation of these trails is conducted via an application process by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets in consultation with the New York State Farmers Direct Marketing Association, the Advisory Council on Agriculture, the New York State Scenic Byways Advisory Board, and the Commissioner of Transportation.
