TECH SECURITY FUNDING FOR NORTH BABYLON SCHOOLS
HAUPPAUGE, NY, July 31, 2023 – Senator Monica R. Martinez announced that the North Babylon Union Free School District has been awarded a $838,149 grant that will finance new high technology security systems throughout the district’s properties. The grant stems from the Smart Schools Bond Act (SSBA) and is part of a recent $13.2 million distribution to school districts throughout New York State.
A summary of the state-wide distribution grants is available here.
The funding will allow for upgrades to the district’s entry control systems, video systems, and emergency classroom notification systems, enhancing the safety of North Babylon schools and ensuring students will learn in a safe environment.
“As a former educator and someone who is committed to bettering the lives of my constituents, I am proud to announce this award and look forward to the improvements it will bring to North Babylon’s schools,” said Senator Monica R. Martinez. “Before all else, safety is our number one concern for our children and this is a strategic investment in achieving exactly that.”
