State Senator Pam Helming recently recognized 33 recruits at the Finger Lakes Law Enforcement Academy Graduation.
The Finger Lakes Law Enforcement Academy has provided training for police and peace officers for agencies in six counties over the last 35 years. It moved to the Finger Lakes Community College main campus for this year to accommodate a larger class and build closer ties with the college’s criminal justice program.
Also honored was Director of Training Dave Christler, who will be retiring after 5 years as head of the Finger Lakes Law Enforcement Academy.
Senator Pam Helming said, “Our law enforcement officers put their lives on the line for us every time they leave their homes for work. These new officers are to be commended for their bravery. We must never forget the challenges officers face and the heroism they demonstrate. The men and women of law enforcement are hardworking and dedicated public servants. As State Senator, I am grateful for their service, and I will continue to be a strong advocate for our officers and their families.”
