At a November 2nd ceremony at Heritage Baptist Church in Palmyra, Senator Pam Helming recognized 21 Veterans from her district nominated for the New York State Senate Veterans Hall of Fame. One nominee will be named next year as the 2024 Inductee to the Hall of Fame.
Senator Helming said, “From World War II to the Global War on Terror, these incredible Veterans served their country with honor and distinction. We posthumously honor a World War II Veteran who survived the attack on Pearl Harbor, and a Vietnam War Veteran who before his recent passing, was recognized as the oldest surviving Vietnam Veteran in our area. One of my constituents nominated a Revolutionary War Veteran who is cited as the inspiration for George Washington’s design of the Purple Heart. On Veterans Day and every day, we owe them a debt of gratitude.”
