The New York State budget will be late again this year. A lot of focus has been on the policy that will be included in the budget. I’m worried about how much the budget will actually cost our taxpayers.
We need policy changes – especially when it comes to public safety – but the budget should be a financial document, not a policy document. These discussions should be had in public view, not behind closed doors and with only one party at the table.
