Senator Patrick M. Gallivan, (R-C, Elma) is sponsoring an American Red Cross blood drive and a hands-only CPR class on Tuesday, April 11 at the Union Fire Company, 1845 Union Road in West Seneca. Blood donations will be accepted from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and CPR classes will be available at 1 p.m. and 1:45 p.m.
“I thank the American Red Cross for providing these two life-saving opportunities for our community,” Senator Gallivan said. “The need for blood never ends with hospitals throughout Western New York depending on blood donations to treat patients of all ages. Likewise, CPR is a technique we should all learn because we never know when we might need to perform this life saving procedure.”
To schedule an appointment to donate blood, visit RedCrossBlood.org or call 1-800-RED-CROSS. Use the sponsor code: WESTSENECANY. To donate, individuals must be at least 17 years of age, or 16 with a signed parental permission form, weigh at least 110 lbs., have a valid photo ID and feel healthy and well.
To sign-up for a 30-minute CPR class, contact WNYregionprep@redcross.org or call 1-800-733-2767.
Senator Gallivan is working with the Red Cross to sponsor similar events throughout the 60th NYS Senate District.
