With One Party in control of the entire budget process, there is more dysfunction and less transparency than ever. For a Legislature that likes to continually pat itself on the back for “making history,” it's certainly worth noting this will now enter the history books as the latest State Budget in 13 years.
We know that the Majorities can move fast when it’s to their political benefit – look at how quickly they moved their preferred judicial appointments. That was a priority to help them advance their political agenda – but a budget that makes New York more affordable and more safe is clearly not.
