Senator Sean Ryan Honors Alford’s Angels As August ‘Small Business Of The Month’
August 31, 2023
KENMORE, N.Y. – Today, August 31, 2023, New York State Senator Sean Ryan announced that Alford’s Angels has been selected as the 61st Senate District Small Business of the Month for August. Senator Ryan will present the owners of the dog grooming salon with a New York State Senate Empire Award in recognition of their service to the Western New York canine community.
Owners Amanda and Deleon Alford opened the salon on Kenmore Avenue in July 2019 after Amanda, a dog groomer since 2010, had previously spent two years hosting pop-up grooming seminars for local dog owners. The salon specializes in 1-on-1 grooming using all-natural products in a calm, crate-free environment. It is also home to Nickel City Pet Pantry, the Alfords’ pet supply shop, which provides free 1-3 day delivery of all-natural pet food and supplies within a 45-minute radius of Kenmore. In August, Alford’s Angels announced they will expand into the adjacent storefront to offer more services to their clients, including training classes, birthday parties, and community get-togethers.
Alford’s Angels has regularly demonstrated their commitment to the Western New York community through fundraising and food drives. In March, they hosted a clothing donation drive for Buffalo Public School 84. Earlier this week, they announced a campaign for WNY Food 4 Paws, a non-profit created to support food pantries that provide pet food to families experiencing financial hardships. For every $15 donated to the online campaign, Alford’s Angels will donate four pounds of dog food.
Senator Sean Ryan said, “Alford’s Angels is the type of local business we love here in Western New York. They’re family owned, they’re passionate about what they do, and they give back to the community. I’m proud to recognize them as August’s Small Business of the Month in the 61st District and wish them the best as they continue to expand their business.”
