STATEMENT FROM SENATOR SEAN RYAN ON JUDICIARY COMMITTEE HEARING

ALBANY – Today, April 18, 2023, New York State Senator Sean Ryan released the following statement regarding the hearing to consider Caitlin Halligan as a candidate for the New York State Court of Appeals:

“Today the Senate Judiciary Committee held an in-depth hearing to question Caitlin Halligan, the Governor's expected nominee to be an Associate Judge on the Court of Appeals. Ms. Halligan has an impressive resume and extensive legal experience, and I appreciated her thoughtful responses to my questions and those posed by my colleagues. I look forward to supporting her nomination when it is formally put forward to the New York State Senate Judiciary Committee.

I once again commend Governor Hochul for selecting someone with great intellect and broad legal experience to serve on the Court of Appeals.”
