$8.5 million in aid will allow for substantive improvements
Senator Dan Stec (R,C-Queensbury) is pleased to announce that Adirondack Regional Airport in Harrietstown is receiving $8.5 million in state funding as part of New York’s Upstate Airport Economic Development and Revitalization competition. The state support will allow for an expansion of the central receiving area, as well as improvements to furniture, an expanded cafe and air circulation enhancements. Stec was an advocate for the airport in its efforts to secure this funding and looks forward to seeing how these upgrades will help make the airport and North Country region more economically competitive and enticing.
“Adirondack Regional Airport handles over 4,700 enplanements annually and is the only commercial service airport within the Adirondack Park. Simply put, it’s a vital piece of our region’s infrastructure,” Stec said. “I’m proud to have supported the airport’s efforts in receiving this state support and I know that it is crucial in growing our economy. This funding will create 90 jobs in the short-term and in the long run, will help expand opportunity and access to the North Country.”
