Tedisco Posthumously Honors Moreau NYS Trooper

Senator Tedisco Presents NYS Liberty Medal to Family of Timothy Pratt

Senator Jim Tedisco (R,C-Ballston Lake) posthumously presented the NYS Senate Liberty Medal, the Senate's highest award for service, to U.S. Air Force veteran and New York State Trooper Timothy P. Pratt of Moreau at an “Honor Our Deceased Veterans” ceremony held by the Saratoga County Board of Supervisors.

Timothy "Tim" Pratt served in the USAF from 1979 to 1986 and was honorably discharged at the rank of Staff Sergeant. For his military service, he was awarded the AF Training Ribbon, AF Commendation Medal, AF Good Conduct Medal, and the AF Longevity Service Award.

After his time in the Air Force, Tim began a 30-year-long career as a New York State Trooper, the duration of which was spent assigned to Troop G, patrolling out of the Wilton Barracks, where he was assigned to the Traffic Incident Management detail. He was a member of the elite New York State Police Motorcycle Unit where he led the 9/11 Memorial Ride from Albany to New York City.

Tim was a member of the American Legion Post 574, and was an avid volunteer at various community events. His most cherished of work being the South Glens Falls Marathon Dance, as he was an alumnus of their 1st ever event.

Tim had 3 children, James, Sarah, and Shane, and was engaged to Sue Clarke.

Tim tragically passed away on October 26, 2016 – trying to keep others safe –-while on duty responding to a traffic incident.
