Addabbo Hosts Festive Back-To-School Concert In Support of Local Youth & Music Education
September 19, 2024
Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr., in collaboration with Harmony 4 All, hosted a special free back-to-school concert on September 13th at P.S. 97 – The Forest Park School in Woodhaven. The event welcomed students, faculty, and the public.
Harmony 4 All, co-founded by brother-sister duo Bianca and Joshua Quddus, with Bianca playing clarinet and Joshua playing saxophone, aims to bring musical programs to local schools. The back-to-school concert showcased works by underrepresented composers and musicians, who are often overlooked in mainstream music due to race, gender, and class. To engage the young audience, Harmony 4 All included a sing-along segment, allowing students to interactively learn about orchestral instruments.
“I am proud to support Harmony 4 All, which not only celebrates the musical talents of students but also underscores the vital role of music education in schools,” Addabbo said. “Harmony 4 All is making a meaningful impact by bringing diverse voices to the forefront and aiming that every child has access to the joy of music.”
In addition to its core mission, Harmony 4 All is launching a new initiative to collect musical instruments from the public for donation to schools in need. This project is ongoing and has no set end date.
