Addabbo Interns Host Pop Up School Supply Giveaway

For the new school year, interns from the Office of NYS Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. hosted a pop-up school supply giveaway in front of the senator’s Woodhaven District Office on August 12, 2024. The event was conducted with support from Queens Public Library which provided drawstring backpacks and reading books. The interns, Karina Malkhan, Bryana Quintero and Stephanie Gonzalez packed each bag with notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers, and resource materials. There was also a wheel that residents could spin to win a prize, which consisted of items like larger backpacks, scented markers, colorful folders, animal print notebooks, tie-dye storage cubes and more. 

"I'm incredibly proud of my interns for organizing this back-to-school giveaway,” Addabbo said. “Their dedication to serving our community and ensuring that younger residents have the supplies they need to succeed is truly inspiring. I appreciate the efforts of our interns Karina, Bryana and Stephanie in making a positive impact and helping to set our students up for a great year ahead."
