Addabbo Joins Local Elected Officials For Paper Shredding Event
August 5, 2024
Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. joined Senator Roxanne Persaud and Assemblymember Stacey Pheffer Amato in hosting a paper shredding event on Saturday, August 3, at St. Helen’s Church parking lot in Howard Beach.
During the entirety of the two-hour event, a line of cars paraded through the parking lot dropping off bags and boxes filled with paper to be shredded.
Some of the constituents expressed relief over being able to de-clutter their homes and dispose of their sensitive documents safely. Several even chose to watch the process through a small window on the shredding truck.
"Paper shredding is more than just a security measure; it’s a commitment to protecting your privacy and ensuring that sensitive information remains out of the wrong hands,” Addabbo said. “I would like to thank Senator Persaud for leading this event and Assemblywoman Pheffer Amato for co-sponsoring.
Senator Addabbo will be hosting another paper shredding event on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at the bandshell parking lot in Forest Park, and the following week on Sunday, October 6, he will be hosting his e-waste recycling event and household goods collection for veterans, also at the bandshell parking lot in Forest Park from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
