Brooklyn, NY – On Saturday, September 21st, State Senator Kevin Parker hosted the 6th Annual Edward Swire Memorial Blood Drive in partnership with Sons of a King Lodge #123. Held at Vanderveer Park United Methodist Church, the event successfully united the community in a shared mission to save lives through blood donation.
"Organizing this blood drive in memory of Edward Swire continues to be a truly humbling experience," said Senator Kevin Parker. "The overwhelming participation we witnessed is a powerful reminder of our community's commitment to one another. Every donation represents hope and a chance at life for those in need.”
The 6th Annual Edward Swire Memorial Blood Drive once again witnessed an extraordinary turnout, with an impressive 70 participants contributing to the cause. Fitzgerald C. Boyce II, Worship Master from Sons of a King Lodge #123, expressed his gratitude for the community's unwavering support. "As we come together for the 6th Annual Edward Swire Memorial Blood Drive, I am truly honored to witness the outpouring of generosity from our community. Every donation is a selfless act that could save a life, and that is something we can all take pride in. This event highlights our shared commitment to service, and I'm humbled by the dedication and support shown by everyone who took part," said Fitzgerald C. Boyce II, Worshipful Master.
The event drew individuals from various backgrounds, all motivated by the understanding that blood donations are vital and lifesaving. The collective effort led to a record-breaking contribution, significantly boosting the community's blood supply and surpassing previous years. Senator Kevin Parker and the Sons of a King Lodge #123 thank all the participants, volunteers, and Vanderveer Park United Methodist Church for their support and dedication in organizing this impactful blood donation event.
