And the 'Teeny' Goes To
June 5, 2024
New York State Sen. Monica R. Martinez was a presenter during Sunday night’s 16th annual Teeny Gala held at Brentwood High School. The Islip Arts Council ceremony was created in 2008 to recognize outstanding high school theater students in the township and encourage their continued pursuit of opportunities within the performing arts and theater. The event is modeled after the Tony Awards, an annual event that recognizes excellence in live Broadway theater, with recipients receiving Tonys.
“It was an honor to recognize the work of Islip’s smallest stage actors,” said Senator Martinez. “This event celebrates the extraordinary talents of local high school theater students. For all of the students nominated, their stage presence is anything but teeny.”
