Senator Gallivan Attends Graduation Ceremony for NYS Troopers

Senator Patrick M. Gallivan (R-C, Elma) attended graduation ceremonies Wednesday, May 15, for the 228 new members of the New York State Police. Gallivan, a former State Trooper and Sheriff of Erie County, congratulated graduates of the 214th session of the Basic School of the New York State Police Academy.
“I always look forward to attending the graduation ceremony for these dedicated men and women who have made a commitment to serve the residents of New York State,” Senator Gallivan said. “After six months of intensive academic, physical, and tactical training, these new Troopers are prepared to join one of the finest law enforcement agencies in the country. I wish them a long and rewarding law enforcement career.”
Among the graduating class are the following residents of the 60th State Senate District:

Joelle Kadi; Orchard Park
The graduation ceremony was held at the Empire State Plaza Convention Hall in Albany.
Also this week, Senator Gallivan sponsored a resolution in the NYS Senate memorializing Governor Hochul to proclaim May 12-18, 2024 as Police Week in New York State. In accordance with National Police Week, the observance honors the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty and commends those working to keep residents safe.
