STATEMENT ON FINAL STATE BUDGET
April 22, 2024
ALBANY, 04/20/24 -- State Senator Peter Oberacker (R/C – Schenevus) today commented on completion of the 2024-25 state budget.
“People are fleeing New York in droves and this state budget, crafted behind closed doors by Democrats, will only add to the exodus. The late spending plan checks in at a record $237 billion and is riddled with unsustainable spending and misdirected policies.
“I will continue to push back against the status quo to ensure that the priorities of those I represent are heard in Albany. Affordability, public safety, and initiatives to stimulate economic growth need to be front and center.”
Senator Oberacker voted against nine of the ten separate bills that comprise the state budget.
