Brooklyn, NY — On Tuesday, November 19, 2024, Senator Roxanne J. Persaud visited the Brooklyn Children’s Museum (BCM) and presented a check for $250,000 to President and CEO, Mr. Atiba Edwards, to support the Museum’s continued efforts to provide educational and cultural programming to children and families across Brooklyn.
“I’m thrilled to contribute to the invaluable work the Brooklyn Children’s Museum does every day to inspire, educate, and engage young minds,” said Senator Persaud. “The BCM is an extraordinary institution, and it’s an honor to help further its mission of providing hands-on, interactive learning experiences to children from all backgrounds. As the world’s first children’s museum, it holds a special place in the hearts of Brooklyn families, and this funding will help ensure it continues to thrive and serve the community for generations to come.”
The Brooklyn Children’s Museum, which serves more than 300,000 children and caregivers annually, offers a range of educational programs that help foster creativity, curiosity, and a love of learning in young people. Founded in 1899, BCM is renowned for its innovative exhibits and programs, which provide a unique space for children to explore science, art, culture, and the world around them.
