Dr. John Weston, Assistant Director of OPP at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine’s (LECOM) Elmira campus, testified at today's budget hearing in Albany.
Albany, N.Y., January 30--At today’s legislative budget hearing, Senator O’Mara addressed Dr. John Weston, Assistant Director of OPP at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine’s (LECOM) Elmira campus, on the college’s work in Elmira and throughout New York State to recruit, educate, and train in-state students as primary care physicians and LECOM’s plans to establish NYS Centers for Excellence.
LECOM, the nation’s largest medical school, envisions a pipeline of students from New York State who will go on to serve as badly needed primary physicians in unserved and underserved areas of rural New York.
