State Senator Chris Ryan Sworn In for First Term; Announces Committee Assignments

State Senator Christopher Ryan was sworn in for his first term on Wednesday, representing the 50th Senate district, covering parts of Onondaga and Oswego Counties. Ryan has been appointed Chair of the Senate Cities 2 committee, which focuses on issues affecting cities in Upstate New York.

“It is an honor to chair the Cities 2 committee. Representing the 8th District in the Onondaga County Legislature has given me a front seat view to the unique opportunities and challenges affecting New York’s Upstate cities. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with our mayors and city councils, to champion their innovations and industries, and to be a voice to serve their needs. From Buffalo to Yonkers - I look forward to working with my colleagues to help our vibrant, urban communities thrive.”

Senator Ryan has also been appointed a member of several committees, including Energy and Telecommunications, Labor, Health, Agriculture, Consumer Protection and Commerce, Economic Development and Small Business.
