NYS Sen. Martinez appointed to Senate leadership team, will serve as link to Governor’s Office on legislative priorities

New York State Sen. Monica R. Martinez has been appointed to the Senate’s leadership team as its Liaison to the Executive Branch.  In this role, she will facilitate communication and collaboration on legislative priorities.  Sen. Martinez’s selection was made by Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins.

“It is with honor that I announce my appointment to the New York State Senate's leadership team as Liaison to the Executive Branch,” said Sen. Martinez.  “This opportunity will allow for constructive collaboration between the Senate and the Governor's Office, benefiting my constituents and all New Yorkers.  Thank you, Majority Leader Stewart-Cousins, for your guidance and trust in me to take on this important role.”

In addition to her role as liaison, Sen. Martinez previously announced her selection as chair of the Senate’s Local Government Committee for the 2025-2026 legislative session.  She will also serve as a member of the Senate’s standing committees on Aging; Alcoholism and Substance Use Disorders; Commerce, Economic Development and Small Business; Disabilities; Education; and Transportation, all of which address key issues affecting her suburban Long Island district.
