Brooklyn, NY – On Thursday, March 6, 2025, Senator Roxanne J. Persaud hosted a special International Women's Day Conversation to celebrate the achievements of women and raise awareness about important topics surrounding gender equality, diversity, and inclusion. The virtual event was streamed live via Zoom and on Facebook Live.
The webinar covered a range of key topics, including Diversity and Inclusion, which focused on embracing diverse voices and perspectives to create a more inclusive society; Celebrating Achievements and Valuing Differences, which honored the accomplishments of women in every field and recognized the value of different experiences and contributions; Raising Awareness about Discrimination, which addressed the challenges women face and the continued need for change; and Strategies for Advancing Gender Equality, which discussed effective methods for promoting equality in all aspects of life.
“This event provided a wonderful opportunity to honor the extraordinary contributions of women while also looking ahead at how we can continue to fight for gender equality. I was grateful for the thoughtful and engaging conversation with our community members, advocates, and leaders," said Senator Persaud.
