SENATOR LAVALLE SUPPORTS PECONIC LANDING’S MAY MILE & 5K RACE

The threat of rain did not stop runners, young and old, from coming out to walk or run in Peconic Landing’s May Mile and 5K Race.  Senator Kenneth P. LaValle applauded the efforts of the lifecare retirement community, which sponsored the annual race in recognition of the East End’s Premier Older Americans Month Celebration.  Each year, Peconic Landing donates the proceeds from the race to a local community organization.  This year, the Greenport Fire Department was the proud recipient of $22,700, which will be used to purchase equipment needed to better serve the fire district’s residents.
