September 11, 2011 A Day to Remember
1:00 P.M. You are invited to join Councilman Gentile to help display commemorative posters along the bike path. Each poster was handmade by a local student and honors a 9/11 victim. Meet at the 69th Street Pier for instructions.
4:30 P.M. Join Councilman Gentile at John Paul Jones “Cannon Ball” Park for a memorial ceremony featuring live music. (101st St & 4th Ave)
5:30 P.M. Immediately following the ceremony, join in a solemn procession along the bike path, sponsored by The Shore Road Parks Conservancy. We will all walk together and view the names of the 9/11 victims. The procession will end at the 69th Street pier. (No banners allowed in the procession)
7:00 P.M. Join Senator Marty Golden for his annual memorial ceremony at the American Veteran’s Memorial Pier (69th St & Shore Rd) featuring a candlelight vigil and patriotic music.
