DenDEKKER -- read once and referred to the Committee on Aging AN ACT authorizing the study of fees and charges assessed to residents of assisted living facilities THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The office for the aging is authorized and directed to study the fees and charges being assessed to residents of assisted living facilities. Specifically, such study shall review the rate of increase of the fees and charges being assessed to residents of assisted living facilities and shall make recommendations to limit the increase of such fees and charges. S 2. On or before April 1, 2014, the director of the office for the aging shall deliver a copy of the findings of the study conducted pursu- ant to section one of this act and any legislative recommendations he or she deems to be necessary to the governor, the temporary president of the senate, and the speaker of the assembly. S 3. The director of the office for the aging may request, and is authorized to receive, any information from any state agencies that is relevant and material to the completion of this study and report. Such information received by the office for the aging shall be subject to the same requirements for confidentiality and limitations on use, if any, as are applicable to such state agency's use of such information.
