State Senator Elect Jack Martins has kept his word to the Elmont community again today as he has made yet another stop in the community to highlight a priority of his- public education. This time, Dutch Broadway School was the scene for Martin’s visit.

Martins visited classrooms, took questions from students and learned about the “Pride of Dutch Broadway.” “This was a great visit where I got meet some of my younger constituents. It was a lot of fun to watch their lessons and learn about Elmont’s educational program,” said Senator Elect Martins adding, “Mr. A showed me the ropes and I look forward to coming back in the weeks and months to come!”

Martins visited the Dutch Broadway School computer lab where students demonstrated their computer skills. Of particular interest to Martins was the Dutch Broadway School sponsorship initiative. School Technology Lab Teacher MaryJane Havrylkoff welcomed Senator Martins to the class. In addition, Martins visited with 1st graders in Art classes and 6th graders discussing their “Stock Market” initiative.

“It’s important to listen and see the different institutions we have in the 7th Senate district. I’ve had two great visits already in Elmont to speak to young people and Caribbean leaders over the past couple of weeks. I look forward to continuing those conversations on job creation, economic development and tax relief in our neighborhoods.”
