(Whitestone, Queens) Senator Avella joined the Dwarf-Giraffe (DG) Athletic League and the City Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) for their annual Park Day Clean Up at Harvey Park.
Titled “It’s My Park Day,” the cleanup event is a great way for neighbors, families and community groups to come together to help clean their neighborhood parks.
This year, the DG Athletic League worked in conjunction with DPR to organize the cleanup of Harvey Park, which is currently used for DG Athletic baseball league and will soon be home to their fall hockey program. The DG Athletic League celebrated its 50th Anniversary of service to the community in 2006.
