Senator Farley Honors Hamilton County Volunteers

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I – Schenectady) had the pleasure of meeting constituents that were honored at the NYS Senior Citizen’s Day Recognition Event on May 5th in Albany. As part of National Older American’s Month, the event honors the generations that helped build and shape our Nation. Honorees were selected for recognition based on their contributions to their community through volunteerism.

From Hamilton County, Senator Farley had the pleasure of honoring Rosie and Timothy Goliber of Indian Lake and Donald MacHattie of Wells.

The Golibers have over 28 years of service in programs such as the Radio Reading program for the blind and visually impaired, the Ambulance Corp. and Meals on Wheels. Rosie belongs to the Garden Club and the North Country Crafters. Timothy is in the Friends of the American Legion Bottle and Can Brigade and is an usher at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. They also organize food drives.

MacHattie has over 37 years of volunteer service with organizations such as the fire and ambulance corps. He has also been active at the state level in the NYS Fireman’s Association, NYS Association of Fire Chiefs, and the NYS Fire Warden Association for 30 years as well as the distinction of being the first president of that association.
