Senator Comrie joined HeartShare Human Services’ Energy Assistance and Community Development Department in administering a Lifeline Telephone Service Workshop for senior citizens. The event provided information on how to apply to the Lifeline program, which assists in making landline and wireless telephone services affordable to all income-eligible customers. For many, phone access means safety and security, connecting families with schools, jobs, health care services and emergency aid. HeartShare Human Services’ Energy Assistance and Community Development Department annually serves approximately 28,500 at-risk New Yorkers, including veterans and senior citizens.
