Senator Bonacic Presents Ceremonial Plaque to Walter E. Hughes for 2016 NY Senate Veterans Hall of Fame Ceremony

(Middletown, NY)-Senator John J. Bonacic (R/C/I-Mt. Hope) presented Walter E. Hughes with a Senate Resolution, and a ceremonial plaque from the 2016 NY Senate Veterans Hall of Fame Ceremony that hung in the Well of the Legislative Office Building in Albany. Senator Bonacic presented Walter the plaque earlier this week, at his home in Port Jervis. Walter was honored earlier this month at a ceremony in Albany. Unfortunately due to health issues, he was unable to attend. Walter also gave Senator Bonacic a copy of a photo of him from World War II. In the photo, which was taken of 70 years ago, Walter is pictured with a captured German SS Officer during the Ardennes Offensive, which took place during the Battle of the Bulge.
