On Sunday, December 10, an article in The Leader examines the impact increased state funding for local roads and bridges has had over the past several years throughout Steuben County.
From Sunday's article:
"There are two big reasons the condition of many Steuben County roads have dramatically improved in the past decade -- an increase in state funding and the work of the county crews."
The Leader article notes that beginning in 2012, Senator O'Mara and Corning-area Assemblyman Phil Palmesano have spearheaded the growth of a bipartisan coalition within the state Legislature to join local highway superintendents and departments, and other local leaders, in boosting the annual "Local Roads Matter" advocacy campaign.
