Community Update: NYS Budget Highlights
Senator Kevin Thomas
April 19, 2021
Dear Neighbor,
Another budget season in Albany is coming to a close. On Wednesday, April 8th, my Senate colleagues and I completed debate and voting on the FY 2021-22 New York State Budget. I came to Albany to fight for Long Island to get its fair share, and I’m very proud that our budget delivers on the priorities of the 6th Senate District.
Amid the on-going challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, this budget secures historic investments in our schools, essential support for our small businesses and restaurants, protections for middle-class taxpayers, investments in our roads and infrastructure, and crucial supports for our veterans. I’m proud to pass this year’s state budget, because I truly believe it provides vital investment in our economy, stands up for Long Island families, and will help our communities recover from COVID-19.
As always, if there is anything my office can assist you with, please don't hesitate to email me at thomas@nysenate.gov or call (516) 739-1700.
Sincerely,
Senator Kevin Thomas
